Founder and Artistic Director of the acclaimed Tararam band, Doron Raphaeli is a charismatic performer who infuses every stage and project with his unique charm and energy.
Doron has four solo albums, each showcasing his diverse musical talents: “Horse of Passion” (2011) – A Jazz Fusion masterpiece. “Beit Abba” (2017) – A blend of musical and ethnic influences from his Jerusalem upbringing. “The Key” (2020) – Empowering songs in Hebrew. “Whole Half” (2024) – Hebrew songs that explore the concept of “wholeness” in life. Band Memberships: Atraf Band and The Minuette Jazz Quartet. Atraf is known for it’s four albums and many hit singles. Minuette released four albums with international success. Both bands are currently performing.
In 2022, Doron collaborated with Moran Baron on the “BlackSmith” project, creating original music in the Nu Jazz style.
Over the years, Doron has played in numerous productions and recorded with top artists like The Gypsy Kings, Kenwood Dennard, Jay Rodrigez, Yehuda Poliker, Danny Robas, David D’Or, Miki Gavrielov and many more.

Throughout his four-decade career, Doron has performed with renowned artists worldwide, including the legendary “Gypsy Kings” and jazz luminaries like Jay Rodrigues and Kenwood Dennard.
Educational Background: A Jerusalem native, Doron began drumming at a young age. He graduated from the High School of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and served in the Nahal Band. He further honed his skills at Drummer’s Collective in New York and the African Music Center La Faretta.
Teaching and Workshops: Since 1997, Doron has been teaching at Rimon School, leading the Afro-Pop Ensemble and mentoring students in drumming and percussion. He also conducts rhythm and body drumming workshops for groups, companies, and organizations and leads master classes across the country. In 2022-2023, he taught at the Levinsky-Wingate Academic Center.
Tararam Group: In 1997, Doron founded the Tararam group, which he continues to direct artistically. Tararam performs both in Israel and internationally, pushing the boundaries of musical genres. Doron has created a wide range of performances with Tararam, including collaborations with artists such as Idan Raichel, Omer Adam, and the international classical pianist Orit Wolf.
